Mobile Diabetes Application

Hi, I’m Hayley and I am a Graphic Designer who has always known that design was the career path for me. Through my degree I have developed a passion for UX and UI Design and I am beyond excited to get started in the industry.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 20. I was fortunate to be old enough to cope with the change in lifestyle but for some, this is not the case. Type 1 diabetes most often occurs in children aged 7-12 years. This change in lifestyle can include: calculating insulin dosages, injecting insulin, counting carbohydrates and learning to manage high and low blood glucose levels. This can be extremely overwhelming and scary for both children and their parents.

That is where Sugarpal comes in. Sugarpal is a mobile application designed to assist children and their parents in the management of diabetes. Users can log their glucose levels, view their graphs, search for food data, and communicate with their family, friends and diabetes specialists. Sugarpal allows parents to support their children as well as monitor their diabetes. My own experiences with diabetes have fuelled my passion for this project.
